My name is Elizabeth Mawson. I'm 28 years old, and a video editor from Derby; based in both Boston, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.

 

I've been a passionate film maker since I was young, but decided to specialise in editing while at the Unviersity of Derby where I studied Film Production and received a 1st Class Honors.

After working as a professional video editor at the award winning film production company Affixxius Films for almost 3 years I started Freelancing in February 2020. When at Affixxius Films I worked directly with many clients including Boots, Sony, Leicester City Football Club and Royal College of Nursing to name but a few. I have a lot of experience editing various different types of videos including interview based promotional films. You can see some of my work on the Film page.

As a video editor, I believe no project is too small. Although I have worked with large corporate companies, I have also worked with many clients from small independent businesses to charities and individuals on personal projects. Before becoming a video editor professionally I worked in marketing at The University of Derby, and ran social media channels, created marketing assets and also commissioned, produced, directed and edited a video for the department I was working for.

I was also previously an Apple support technician at the University of Derby and a Sales Assistant at KRCS - so I have a lot of experience working with people and solving problems.

In my spare time, I am a passionate cook and enjoy experimenting and creating new recipes, and I am also taking a course to gain a WSET diploma in wine tasting. I'm an enthusiastic photographer, particularly of landscapes and food and I also like to relax by doing modern calligraphy, and love live music and going to concerts and festivals. Finally, I'm a proud kitten parent to two beautiful Scottish Folds; Theodosia & Augustus with my partner Liam, who is also a video editor.
